Julia vs NHL (Non Hodgkins Lymphoma)

Donation protected
I'm creating this account for my sister Julia, who, for the 3rd time in 3 years, has had her Non Hodgkins Lymphoma come back. She's not giving up without a fight though, and I'm here to help her fight her fight.

This is her story...

After months of not feeling well (think typical cold coming on) and night sweats (think menopause... she was closing in on 50) a lump presented itself on her neck. She paid a visit to her Doctor and from there was immediately referred to the Oncologists for further testing, which, after having a biopsy done, it was sadly revealed to be Cancer. On January 3, 2011 she was diagnosed with Follicular NHL (Non Hodgkins Lymphoma) Stage 4 - B. She began an intense treatment of Chemotherapy in March of 2011.

Fast forward to May of 2012, where she once again had spent a few months just not feeling right, only to be told in June, after having tests done, that her cancer had come back. This relapse meant having to go a different route in treatment... On August 22, 2012 (her 50th birthday) she started treatment in preparation for her Stem Cell Transplant. A month was spent in hospital during this time frame. It was a very difficult and scary time for her.

Fast forward once again... to August of 2013. Julie thought she was feeling more tired than usual (which was hard to gage, as through all of this she continued to work full time, because she had to) new lumps appeared. On October 1st, 2013 she had a CT Scan done which revealed signs of reoccurrence. January 17th of 2014 she had a biopsy done and a week later, on January 27th, she was dealt yet another blow... her cancer was back. Same story, different day.

Julia has been advised that they (her doctors) will be taking on a watch and see approach, with monthly monitoring. Ultimately, a Bone Marrow Transplant will be her last resort/course of treatment. Her Doctors feel this will take place within the year. She has 7 siblings who can be tested to see if a match. Sadly, our eldest brother Raymond cannot donate his bone marrow as he is battling his own battle of Cancer, Multiple Myeloma.

Julia feels she has no alternative but to take matters into her own hands and fight this fight HER WAY so that she doesn't have to resort to the 'last resort/course of treatment' offered to her by Modern Medicine today. She has begun 'intense' alternative treatment by way of diet and Naturopathic Medicine. None of which is covered by her insurance or OHIP here in Ontario. On top of this, she has had to take leave from her job and her income has been reduced by 30%. I don't want her to have additional stress from not being able to make ends meet each month on top of fighting this fight. This is where you come in... any amount, however big or small that you are able to contribute to Julia WILL make a HUGE impact on her journey.

To give you an idea of what her monthly costs will be...
$1000.00 per month for Photon Technology (experimental electronic stimulator)
$1000.00 per month for weekly Vitamin 'C' transfusions
$600.00 plus per month for Organic Foods & required Vitamins
$250 - $300 per month for travel costs to Toronto ( 4.5 hour commute for Julia) to see a highly recommended Naturopathic Doctor who has cured many people of their Cancer.

My sister is a very proud individual, who would never dream of asking for help outside of her immediate family. (this is where I, the younger sister comes in) She has given so much of herself to others... raising 3 really great kids to be the independent and self sufficient young adults that they are today, and just being there for anyone else in their time of need. No questions asked. She loves the great outdoors and anything and everything about nature. She loves the simple things in life. She loves life.

Thank you for taking the time to read this... and please keep my sister in your prayers for a full recovery.

She's a fighter. She's got this. I just know it!!!
