Guatemala Mission

UPDATE: As of February 10th, 2014

with cash and cheque Maddy currently has collected $2700.  $2500 is going to the construction of a house for a family in need.  Any extra money given will be donated to purchasing books for a school currently under construction with Wells of Hope.

STORY

In October of 2013 Maddy made a decision--she was going to get her license on her 16th birthday and buy herself a car as fast as she could.  Maddy quickly got a job and started saving the majority of every pay cheque in hopes that she might have enough money for an old beater by the summer.  She was well on her way when something remarkable happened.

During a school assembly Maddy learned of an organization called Wells of Hope who were doing several fundraising events to help bring necessities such as food, homes, education and the most basic necessity of all-water-to those in need. Wells of Hope had inspired and impressed Maddy so much that she became consumed with the idea of going on a "mission".  Maddy applied to Wells of Hope through her school and found out in December she was selected as one of 15 teenagers to be given this remarkable opportunity.

Maddy took every cent she earned towards her car and bought her own flight, and paid for her own accommodations for the duration of her stay.  She will leave for Guatemala March 8th.  While in Guatemala Maddy will be helping to teach English, visiting orphanages, helping with construction of homes, and will hand out backpacks filled with donated school supplies.  She wants to do more though!  As always Maddy dreams big!  She wants to purchase a home for a family in need and she desperately needs your help to meet this goal.  Maddy needs to raise 2500.00 in 4 weeks!

Any help you may be able to provide is greatly appreciated and you can rest assured will go to  a family in need!

Cheques are also accepted written to Wells of Hope with Maddys name in the subject.  We will happily pick them up
