Conner Churchill-Race Season 2014

Spende geschützt

At the young age of 5 Conner was diagnosed with a disease called Legg-Calve_Perthes. A childhood hip disorder initiated by a disruption of blood flow to the ball of the femur called the femoral head. Due to the lack of blood flow, the bone dies. Conner spent months in a wheel chair, limited mobility, restrictions on running and jumping for 3 long years. Conner had surgery at UW Children's which was performed by Dr Noonan and we kept Conner to all the limitations set forth by his dream team at UW.. Because contact sports were out of the question Conner's dad thought racing would be a great outlet for Conner in order to still feel part of a team and interact with other kids his age while competing. Little did we know how amazing he would be behind the wheel.
Conner is attempting to raise money for his 2014 race season. After moving from Kid Kart to Yamaha Sportsman he's had to start over and replace everything from karts, tires, motors, tools, covers, and several replacement parts for spare. Conner finished his Route 66 2013 season finishing 4th overall for kid kart. We were very proud of Conner and his great outlook in the sport of racing. He's a natural on and off the track. You can always count on Conner watching each class learning everything he can from his own list of top drivers and watching youtube videos in order to become the best driver possible. His heros range from locally Austin Erikson to his all time favorite Sebastian Vettel, Formula 1...Conner has studied every single race he's every won... Sigh...

So far we've been able to buy 2 used Tony Karts from a local racer and we've ordered all new stickers for them. Jim is in the process of preparing them for powder coating and new paint. Conner is still in need of a new helmet, race suit, tires (his travel series require a new set each race), and 2 motors in order to run local and travel without wearing them out. We've scheduled and paid for professional lessons in his new kart at our local track in order for Conner to get the best hands on training possible and Jim had taken classes in Milwaukee in order to maintain the kart during the race season. There seems to be a huge learning curve going from Kid Kart to Yamaha Sportsman and I'm proud to say Jim has done his homework.

The bottom line is Conner wants to compete at the highest level and we see the potential in him to provide the fastest and safest kart possible for him to reach his goal of being the best.

In December 2014 Conner will be running Man Cup and then continue to run the series in the 2015 season along with Route 66 and Badger Kart Club. Conner will also be running a 2nd travel group called Mid-American Sprit Series racing at 3 Wisconsin tracks and 2 in Illinois!! Very excited to run with this new series!
