Tragic Accident - Help for Autumn Gifford

On Sunday July 5th, our family's really close friend Autumn Gifford was in a horrific car accident. With the permission from Autumn's parent's, they have agreed that I share this information with all of you.

Autumn was a passenger in her car and was traveling south bound on I25. The Intoxicated driver lost control and rolled the vehicle.

At some point while the car was rolling, Autumn was ejected from the car. The car rolled on top of her pinning her to the ground. Thankfully an off duty Firefighter was behind them when the accident occurred.

With the help of other drivers at the scene, they were able to  lift the vehicle and pull Autumn out from underneath.

At that time the off duty firefighter had noticed she was blue and had no pulse. He started chest compression's and fortunately had a intubation kit in his car. The Firefighter then proceeded to intubate Autumn out in the field.

Our beloved Autumn is currently in a medically induced coma  with a chest tube in and is still being intubated in the ICU fighting for her life.

She fractured her right clavicle, right ribs 1-3, and 7-10. Left side rib 1 only. Pneumothorax and hemothorax on the right side, small pneumothorax on the left side. She also isn't moving her right arm very much which could be from the clavicle fracture.

This afternoon she will be having surgery to try and repair her clavicle. Autumn's mother Brandy spoke with the Doctor this morning, and they are convinced her clavicle is much worse then they anticipated. That being said she could have nerve damage, and still hasn't been able to move her right hand.

The scans they took show 100% brain activity and she has moved both legs and her left arm.

Last night she opened her eyes and was following commands which is a huge positive for her.

Please... If you can donate anything, anything at all to help our sweet beautiful Autumn and her family with her recovery and the upcoming massive medical bills that are about to come. Even with Autumn having insurance, her medical bills are going to be massive.  So if we can help our fellow Warrior and her family in such a critical time, they would be so grateful.
