How I got here....Sue Fitzgerald Lesniowski is an independent woman. Having raised three boys for the last 16 years, solely on her our own, has been no easy task. Her dedication to her faith has carried her through many difficult times, but now she needs more than just prayers – she needs your financial support.
Since June of 2018, Sue suffered multiple injuries from three separate accidents. She broke her left ankle and foot in June and reinjured it the end of September. She got another cast on Halloween. While getting on her knee scooter, she lost her balance, fell, and hit her head. She went to the ER and was diagnosed with a severe concussion. Two days later, while still in a cast and dizzy from her concussion, her dog became tangled in her crutches at home sending her tumbling down an entire flight of stairs. Sue wound up breaking her knee cap and fracturing 7 inches of her tibia from the knee on her left leg. Her knee required surgery. She shattered her right heel. She spent two and a half weeks in the hospital and was moved to a nursing home this past Monday. She is not allowed any weight bearing on her lower extremities which means she is totally bedridden.
Sue is unable to work, and she’ll be bedridden for at least 3 months. After that, she will be confined to a wheelchair while she learns to walk again, a painful process that could up to 12 months!
With no income and minimal insurance coverage, Sue is facing a potentially devastating financial crisis. With two of her son’s living between 5 and 16 hours away, they have limited time away from school and work to help care for her. Her third son, living with her is working to help support her and dealing with his own medical issues. So, the cost of getting Sue back on her feet is mounting quickly! Current and future medical costs, anticipated transportation for future physical therapy and paying monthly bills with no income is bearing down heavy on her impeding her recovery.
Please consider donating any amount to help defray her medical costs, and lack of income while she recuperates. We anticipate these costs to be $75,000 or more. Please give what you can - every dollar counts! Thank you so much!
