My cousin’s husband, Mikhenko Sergei, is an incredible man. He is 39 years old and has 3 children. He lives in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. And he has a story that I want to share with you.
The doctors have diagnosed Sergei with the following disease:
-Cirrhosis B and D virus = Hepatitis D
-MELD 12 = Model for End-Stage Liver Disease
-Dysplastic nodule of the 6th segment of the liver with signs of cancer (LIRADS 5)
-Intra-hepatic form of portal hypertension = an increase in the blood pressure within a system of veins called the portal venous system. Veins coming from the stomach, intestine, spleen, and pancreas merge into the portal vein, which then branches into smaller vessels and travels through the liver
-Esophageal varicose veins dilatation
-Hypersplenism = enlargement of the spleen
-Ascites = Abdominal swelling
-Parenchymal jaundice
On October 22, 2017, Sergei had to go through chemoembolization. Chemoembolization places chemotherapy and synthetic materials called embolic agents into a blood vessel feeding a cancerous tumor to cut off the tumor's blood supply and trap the chemotherapy within. It is most often used to treat liver cancer but may also be used in patients whose cancer has spread to other areas of the body. This procedure was done because he was facing a high probability of developing a malignant liver tumor.
In his case, a liver transplant is highly recommended because it is the only way he can overcome this disease.
With a great need comes a great cost. In Ukraine, a liver transplant would cost $131,900 American dollars. This surgery would be performed in the Republic of Belarus. Sergei would also undergo serious treatments followed after this procedure.
Not only is Sergei facing some serious health issues, but his wife, Tetiana, also has had 3 major surgeries between 2015-2017. Tatiana had valvular heart disease and required surgery as well.
Due to the high cost in Tetiana’s health procedures - all of their savings, as well as finical support from local friends and family went to her need. They are in great need and are seeking help from anyone.
Friends, please keep this family in your prayers. Our God is an almighty God. He will provide a way and may our hearts be open to his plan.

Лікарі постановили мені діагноз:
Цироз печінки вірусної В та D – етіології , ChildB. MELD 12. Диспластичний вузол 6-го сегменту печінки з ознаками раку (LIRADS 5). Внутрішньо печінкова форма портальної гіпертензії. Варикозне розширення вен стравоходу 3 ступеню. Гіперспленізм. Асцит. Паренхіматозна жовтуха.
22 жовтня 2017 року мені було проведено хіміоемболізацію артерії печінки так як є висока ймовірність утворення злоякісної пухлини печінки, та рекомендовано трансплантацію печінки як єдиний вихід побороти хворобу.
Найдешевша вартість даного лікування в Європі складає: 131900 доларів США, і може бути проведена в республіці Білорусь.
Окрім цього необхідне регулярне обстеження і після оперативна реабілітація.
В зв’язку з тим що на протязі з 2015 по 2017 роки моїй дружині Тетяні було проведено три оперативних втручання в тому числі на серце (набутий порок), а також в зв’язку з високою вартістю лікування гепатиту всі наші заощадження а також фінансову допомогу друзів та родини було використано, ми змушені звертатись по допомогу до всіх хто не байдужий.
Просимо всіх хто не байдужий, та має таку можливість, допомогти зібрати дані кошти.
