His Battle to Recover From Massive Stroke

We have all been deeply saddened by the recent news. Our dear Jim - husband, father, brother and friend, suffered a massive stroke last week on November 20th during the middle of the night. He's currently in the ICU. He suffered major damage to his left side of his head due to a blood clot. There's paralysis along the entire right side of his body and he is not speaking. Currently, he's beginning to awake and respond. We're hopeful he will continue to recover but with the severity of the stroke, doctor's say it'll be a long road to recovery. He'll need physical, occupational and speech therapy for quite awhile. Unfortunately, along with this recovery comes medical expenses, caregiving and equipment insurance does not cover. In addition, the long term prognosis is that he'll be permanently disabled which affects the household income. While we hope for the best for his recovery, there's still the financial burden on us, his family, as he will not be able to return to work. In addition, I will be his primary caregiver and that takes time and energy away from my career and the income I could be bringing in. Asking for help is a very humbling experience for us. We've always been blessed to make ends meet and this was an unexpected tragedy and quite devastating. Please consider helping our family with a generous donation. This is just a start.
