Spencer Sias's Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
I recently learned that a dear friend that I have known since I was a child, Spencer Sias, was diagnosed with Gastric Cancer in October of 2013. Thus far, he has undergone 2 surgeries in an attempt to remove the cancer from the lining of his stomach. Unfortunately, they were both unsuccessful. Spencer's primary insurance only covered 35% of the surgeries which has left him with over $12,000 in medical bills to pay off. He recently took a job at a lumber mill in Missoula to help pay his bills but with little to no energy, this will be a tough endeavor for him to keep up. Spencer is currently on his 3rd week of chemotherapy in Missoula; if the cancer cells are not under control after the 4th week he will embark on a grueling 30 day straight treatment.
Spencer's diagnosis came only months after he lost his sister to leukemia in June of 2013; she left behind 3 beautiful little girls. As Spencer and his family continue to grieve for his sister, they now have to pull together and join yet another family members fight against this awful disease. As too many of us know, cancer can take away so much from a person but it can not take away their spirit. Spencer is keeping an extremely positive attitude and with our love and support he will win this battle.
