Please read bellow his testimonial and you will get to know a little bit of his journey.

My Name is Alex Rodrigues I am 46 years old and this is my story Up until 2011 I was fulfilling my life's dream. Had my own company, a steady career in the creative industry, a busy Photographer and producer with contracts pouring. Hiring people, and paying taxes. That's when then disaster stroke: First, after a long battle with immigration, we lost our fight because a series of bad lawyers and, we were send back to our country of origin. Getting there after 16 years of building our dream with absolutely nothing: No job, no house, no money, and no hope. We started to figure out about our new situation, the second hit came: My sister lost her 4 year battle against cancer and dies, just few months after we were sent back. Then we started to bring some of our stuff back from America, in order to start again in a country we don't know anymore, with cultural aspects we were not use to and more importantly, Trying to pursue business in a way completely different that we were taught to. When some good little things started happening, we were getting our name out there, and some small deals were started happening, third hit stroke: I was a victim of a heart condition called Aortic dissection type A (the most dangerous type). The danger is that the dissection could channel blood out of your aorta, causing a fatal rupture of the artery. Serious complications arised when the dissection channels blood into the space around your heart or lungs. I entered to a long surgery process with a 20% chance of living. Then, I was administered a drug called Noradrenaline (Norepinephrine), in order to keep my heart beating steady. As side effects my hands and feet suffered deep necrosis. They were able to save my life, my hands, but I lost both feet. After they took care of my heart and spending about 5½ months in the Heart Hospital, they transferred out me to another unit call INTO. A Hospital specialized in trauma and orthopedic problems, to figure out what to do with my foot amputations. Once transferred, I began my treatment with the leg specialists when they advised me to cut a little bit more of my legs and go to a transtibial amputation (below the knee), on both legs, in order to regain later a better quality of life as an amputee. After about 2 months doing surgeries and recovering from my amputations, I left the hospital and started my recovering process at home. It was about 7 ½ months of hospitalizations and 8 surgeries get to the health condition I'm at right now. I started to learn how to live using a wheelchair and it took a total of 11 months until my first time testing my prosthesis. Right now we are in a process of learning how to walk again and trying to be re-inserted in society as a professional and an individual with needs, goals and desires. All this time spent in the hospital we did not have any resource to help us, but the help of donations of friends and family to help us get by. My wife is my main supporter, being by my side since day one, spending countless hours in the hospital and trying to raise funds for our support. We never lost the faith the God that allow us to go through all this, is the same God that will guide us towards our future. I am thankful for you spending some time reading this testimonial and I hope that can make a difference in your life Thank you, Alex
