Brices Medical Fund

In February of 2015 Brice received the news that he had Alport Syndrome. It is a genetic condition characterized by kidney disease, hearing loss, and eye abnormalities. People with Alport syndrome experience progressive loss of kidney function.

Here we are 2 years after the diagnosis and his kidney function has reduced drastically. He is going on the translant list but there are 4500 canadians currently on the list. On July 21st Brice is having a surgery to have a fistula implanted into his arm, so he can start kindey dialysis. He needs to be off work for 8 weeks after this surgery and there is a great concern with how he will pay his bills and support his two young children during this time. The hope is he will eventually get a new kidney which would make him live a normal life again rather than 4 hours of dialysis 3 times per week. After transplant surgery recovery is another few months, but if all goes well it would essentially make his life normal again. Fingers crossed for a new kidney soon!

Brice never asks for help, this is probably one of his biggest faults. For those of you that know him he is a great man and a great father. Any help for him through this tough time would be greatly appreciated!
