Brittany's life changing surgery

Brittany has a type of dwarfism called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita (SED). She is 21 years old, 2'11", and is 52 lbs. Brittany is a college student who wants to be a high school teacher. She loves reading, painting, and people. Brittany is active in her church and is a GA leader in her church.


At the age of 6 Brittany had to have a spinal fusion and had to wear a halo brace for 6 months. This time she will have to have a more extensive surgery. Brittany and her mother will have to travel to West Palm Beach, Florida for about 3 months. This surgery will straighten her legs, spine, hips, and feet. After the surgery she will have a very rough recovery as she will have to do physical therapy EVERY day.


While she is in therapy she will have to relearn how to walk and how to balance herself.Her right leg needs to be lengthened. While the right leg is being lengthened a full leg brace will go on her left leg and once the right leg is lengthened then she will have to wear full leg braces on both legs.


If Brittany doesn't get this surgery it will only be a matter of time before she will be confined to a wheel chair. Without this surgery she will not be able to follow her dreams. Please help support Brittany and her family with her life changing surgery!
