Geography Summer Field School

Hi guys! I have an awesome opportunity this summer...the Geography Department at UNCG (which I am a part of) is doing a summer field school. The twelve-day journey begins with a flight to Spokane, and from there we will visit Glacier National Park, the Great Falls of the Missouri, the Three Forks, Yellowstone National Park, the Nez Perce homelands in Idaho, and places where Lewis & Clark crossed the continental divide on the journey west to find the source of the Missouri River. We will be studying both the human geography (the people and culture) as well as the physical geography (information about the landscape, atmosphere, drainage patterns, etc.). Unfortunately, as I have spent most of the past 6 months without a job, there is not really any way for me to be able to afford this out of pocket, and between the costs of tuition, air fare, and the field costs, the amount required to attend really starts to add up - $250 alone is required for a deposit before spring break. One of the reasons that I would really love to attend is not only because it is a great opportunity and may be my only chance to see some gorgeous beautiful places (like the glaciers in Glacier National Park - they are retreating at an incredibly fast rate and won't be there much longer!), but since I am most likely graduating in August, this is going to be my only opportunity to attend a field school like this one (and it'll also look great on this grad school applications I'll be submitting this fall)! I certainly don't expect to raise the whole amount, but anything anybody can do will help.
