God's Grace

Donation protected

By Gods will Destiny Grace Squires was born January 10, 2014. At 15 weeks I was misdiagnosed with possible Down Syndrome and/or Spina Bifita. After a level II sonogram, not only could they not rule out these two terrible things but doctors could not see the entire brain due to a chorionic hemorrhage between my uterus and the amniotic sac. We were then misdiagnosed again with absence of the Septum pellucidem. This meant that our baby girl would have been blind and have no pituitary gland and possibly mentaly retarded. We were told that this was not going to be a viable pregnancy and referred to an abortion clinic. Devistated and unable to make that decision we put it in Gods hands that we were going to love her no matter what, even if she was going to be different. With a second and third opinion proving this wrong, we knew then God healed our babies brain, Moving along with our pregnancy positively and feeling so blessed. On December 4, 2012 after experiencing some pain and some bleeding my husband rushed me to the hospital. When we arrived at the emergency room on that night, little did we know it would change our lives forever. We were told that my water broke and that I was most likely going to give birth to this little angel within 24-48 hours, at only 22 weeks and she would have no chance of survival, since they didn't consider that to be a viable pregnancy at that stage and she was too little. I was at very high risk of bleeding out and again we were faced with a decision of inducing labor, knowing that she wouldn't survive. Again we gave that decision back up the God, knowing it could be fatal to me. I Did not give birth to her within the time frame they gave me, and after 48 hours was admitted upstairs to the high risk floor and was put on strict bedrest. I was away from my 5 year old son, Colton and my 3 year old daughter, Gabriella for 5 long weeks. Being a "stay at home" mom I had never been away from them. I spent Christmas and New Years in the hospital. Destiny was born three months early at only 27 weeks, very premature. So far we know she has apnea of prematurity, increased bilirubin in bloodstream due to inmature liver function, respiratory distress syndrome, a grade II intraventricular hemorrhage of the right ventrical, poor feeding thru a feeding tube, and is receiving fluids thru a Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter. Everyday Destiny is here is a miracle and we are not sure what long term effects all these medical conditions will have on our little angel but our family is so blessed to have Destiny Grace in our lives. We have been so blessed God has placed all the right people in our lives at the right times. We need the continued support of our friends, family and even strangers being called to help. We continue to ask for help! Insurance has only been able to help so much. High deductables and low percentage of coverage is causing our medical bills to pile up. Transportation to and from the hospital has continue to be a struggle as my husband and I share a vehicle. Cabs, busses and gas to those who have given me rides, cost money. Daycare is expensive for only one income and is necessary in order for me to be here with Destiny at the hospital. Meals, since I am not home to cook them have been expensive. Everyday that Destiny Grace is here fighting for her life is a blessing for us, we want her to continue to get stronger everyday so she can join the rest of her loving family at home. Thank you for your support and we are forever grateful.
