Kerry Paterson, Michael Ciniello, Neil Peet,
Matt Cahill, and Debra Kriger are excited to announce that they have been
selected for the regional finals of the 2014 Hult Prize!
A partnership between Hult International Business School and the Clinton Global Initiative, the Hult Prize is a social entrepreneurship competition in which students are tasked with developing an innovative solution to a pressing global problem. The winning team will receive $1 million to launch their enterprise.
This year the focus is non-communicable disease (NCD) in urban slums, and the goal is to improve the lives of millions of people who suffer from illnesses like diabetes, heart disease, obesity, or cancer. NCDs are a growing problem, and account for well over 50 percent of global healthcare costs.
Our team was selected from among thousands to represent the University of Toronto's MBA, MGA, JD, and PhD programs at the regional finals in Dubai. We are eager to share ideas on such an incredible global platform, but we can't get there without your help. Unfortunately this stage of the competition does not come with funding, and between flights, hotel stays, meals, and transportation, it will not be an inexpensive endeavor.
We appreciate any and all support that you can give us as we work hard to create a solution that could quite possibly end up helping millions of people in need.
