Australian Bushfire Wildlife Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi everybody,
during my 9 months work and travel in Australia in 2008/2009, I fell in love with the country. With the nature, the wildlife and the people. Bushfires happen regularly and are usually an important part of the ecosystem. However, given the magnitude , speed and severeness of bushfires in this season, affected wildlife had hardly any chance to react and survive. The impact on the wildlife will be felt for many years.
While many popular animal rescue centers are prominently covered in media and receive lots of donations (which is good), many lesser known animal shelters and volunteer programs remain underfunded.
My fund raiser will go to one or two animal shelters or volunteer programs, that are the most underfunded by the time the target is reached. I will share more details once I have selected where they go.
I would be very happy if you join me in this fund raising campain. Donations of any size are much appreciated.
I will match the fund raising target.
Thanks a lot!
Best,
Andreas
P.S.: The photo above shows a wild Koala that I saw close to Noosa in Queensland in 2008. Given a life span of 12-15 years for wild Koalas, there is some chance that this Koala was affected by the bushfires as well.
