"Help Baby Coen"

On January 17, 2014 @ 3:29pm our second great-grandson Coen Eden Carter was born by c-section. At birth the doctors discovered there were complications. Coen had stopped growing and was not fully developed. He has tracheoesophageal atresia and was born without a rectum. Within hours of birth he had his first surgery to provide a temporary fix that would allow him to eat and have bowel movements and is facing more surgeries and a long hospital stay.  Mommy is staying near the hospital and daddy is trying to hold onto his job and visit the baby and mommy on his days off.

Update - February 12th

Baby Coen has developed NEC in his intestines.  If things do not improve he faces another surgery tomorrow morning to remove the infected portion of the intestines.
