Zaytuna College
Zaytuna College is America's first Muslim-Liberal Arts College. They bring the traditional Liberal Arts of Western Academia with the traditional sciences of Islam into a fusion of "east meets west." After four years, Zaytuna College is on course to graduate its first class.
It is a journey that thus far has opened my eyes to the world. After three semesters, I have been exposed to many different sciences in Islamic and the Liberal Arts. Until now, my teachers have exposed me to basic Islamic jurisprudence, Islamic Theology, and classes on the Quran. These classes are complimented with classes on ancient history, Western Literature, and Socratic Logic. Outside of class, I get exposed to other classes about religion and philosophy.
After four years, I have the opportunity to enter almost any field of choice. The school curriculum is designed to produce students that are well rounded. I summarize what I learned into three words, how to think. I can contribute back to my community. If we do not help our own community, who will? In a time where student loans is the biggest business in the country, we need each other now more than ever. Thank you.
