Please Help Me Stay In College!

Hi everyone!
My name is Catherine Poarch and I am a junior studying studio art at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York. My passion is photography and I have considered eventually becoming an art therapist in order to help others through art and creative expression...

I am hoping to be able to pay for my senior year and finish my studies at Manhattanville, but I have been coming across many financial rough patches that are inhibiting me from accomplishing this goal...

My background:
I grew up in Virginia, living with my mother and father. When I was 10, my parents divorced and I have lived with my mother since then. My mom was unemployed for several years, but we made due with her odd jobs such as tutoring, substitute teaching at my middle school and high school, selling jewelry, and doing translation work. My mom's hunt for a full time job in Virginia was futile. Eventually we left our house in Virginia to come live with my grandmother on Long Island, rent free, while I began my studies at Manhattanville.
Finally, living in New York, my mom has found a job working for a metals company making hardly enough money to live on, but at least it's a job and we have a roof over our heads and family surrounding us. At school, I work as a monitor for the art studios and I also have another job working at an afterschool program for kids just up the road from my school. I don't have a car, so I unfortunately have to decline many of the babysitting offers I get from parents of the kids I work with. My mom and I have been struggling with money for a long time. Recently the struggle has become far worse, and my payment options are running out. Most of my tuition is covered in loans. I have several scholarships and grants as well, but I still have several payments to make and my phone has been ringing non-stop with calls from Sallie Mae, demanding I make my monthly loan payment. My mom tried to take out more loans but she was denied. At this point, I don't know where else to turn to for money. I recently heard about "Gofundme.com" through Seventeen Magazine and thought "What can I lose?" So here I am sharing my story with you, hoping that some good will come from it.

I really appreciate any amount that you are able to give. $1 donated is $1 I wouldn't have had otherwise! And even if you can't donate at this time, a prayer or good thought towards me would be much appreciated as well. Thank you!
