Jessica's Journey

My mom, Jessica, is without a doubt, my best friend on this earth, so the thought of losing her is unbearable. She is kind, loving, selfless and someone I call a role model. So many people look up to her; all of her friends in the many animal rescues she volunteers through, her family, blood related or not, it doesnt matter, and especially her five kids. Everyone is rallying around my mom, it is unbelievable how many people have come into our lives and stayed because Jessica is not an easy person to forget. I cannot describe how tangible the love is within our group of friends and family. She has everything she needs in us... everything except a way to pay for the medical bills. Honestly, I have been watching from the sidelines, one surgery after another, and it is brutal to watch what this disease is doing to her body. Breast cancer affects many men and woman across the globe and what people do not always realise is that the medical bills are also a huge burden on the family. I want this message to reach anyone and everyone who will listen; if I know one person who deserved the help in paying medical bills, it would be my mom. With five kids, one about to start preschool, one in fourth grade, another just starting high school, I having just recently moved away for college, and the eldest, Jordan staying home to help and take care of her, Jessica has a lot on her plate. But dont think it stops there! She volunteers almost everyday with local animal rescues, she donates to the poor and in need, my mom goes every single Friday to a convalescent center and gives away animal food to the elderly who cannot afford it, and on top of all that, she still manages to find the strength and time to open our door every Sunday to anyone who needs a home cooked meal and companionship. What doesnt she do? She is an inspiration, and I sincerly hope that this story will then move and inpire you to donate to her cause. We couldnt do it with out you.
