James Freitas Fund

This is my dear friend James and his mother Jean. James has spent the last 20 yrs of his life caring for first his Father who had Alzheimer for 8 yrs and past away  and then caring for His beloved mother Jean for the past 12yrs. James is the most selfless son I have ever met. He put the needs of his sick parents way before his own. He moved bask to their house to care for them 24/7. The relationship between his mother and him was one of the most beautiful I have ever witnessed. He took Jean everywhere with him. He made sure she had all her medications, diapers, etc... this last year her expenses got so high that he would go without lunch or dinner to make sure she ate. Getting up at 4am everyday to get her breakfast and settled before he went to work for 10hrs a day. Come home and make sure she had dinner, bath etc... and put her to bed every night. He did all of this with no help. He never let her know how bad things were financially because he never wanted to worry her. He took her to dinner every Friday night because she looked forward to their date night so much. Jean spent the last 2 weeks in ICU at Yale New Haven Hospital with her son by her side 24/7. He never left that hospital. The nurses told me they have never seen a more devoted son. Last Tues I had the honor of being with James when he took her off life support and we sat there silent while she passed. This has left my friend emotionally and financially exhausted. He is rail thin and hardly recognizable from the man I know.
It has been over a week and Jean is still in the morgue because there is no money to even call a funeral home. So I am asking his friends , family, their friends and family to please help him. Help him lay his precious mother to rest properly the way she so deserves. Jean was the sweetest woman I have ever known. Raised 4 children one of them ( Gary) with down syndrome. Whom James also took care of. He is going to loose his home and everything very soon if we all don't all  pitch in to help him. Those of you who know him, you know he would help anyone in need. Now he desperately needs our help. All donations will go directly to James as I have put him as the Beneficiary on the fund.
