Glen was diagnosed in 2008 with an Anaplastic Oligoastrocytoma. He had an awake craniotomy and responded well to radiation and oral chemo. In 2017, he had some regrowth and another awake craniotomy. His tumor had morphed into a Glioblastoma Multiforme. He participated in (and his tumor was non-responsive) to an immunotherapy clinical trial. He is now having more aggressive oral and infused chemotherapy.
His new tumor growth is in the part of his brain affecting his balance and motor skills. Getting around has become challenging - his treatments are still at MGH.
The most immediate challenge is stairs- many of you know there are 14 to get to the living /sleeping/ eating area. Glen and Michelle would like to rent a "stair chair" to conserve some energy.
There is a great company nearby and it could be installed maybe next week at a cost of about $1000 through the new year. (there is the up front and minimum fees and then it is $125 a month) I would like to see if collectively( in tiny steps) we can raise the $1000 to get this done.
(and, out of respect to Glen, we could "SAVE" money by buying on craigslist of FB yard sale but nobody needs another project and this has a warranty and is stress free, no work kind of thing, as it should be)
Never one for small goals, I put $10,000 as a goal since co-pays, co-insurance, gas, travel, add up fast.
Glen and Michelle, Erin and Danielle have many blessings- their friends and family among them. You know they are hard working, stubborn, caring and strong. We are loving kind and generous, let's shower some more blessings and kindness on them.
