Maynard Family - Hurricane Michael

Donation protected
My name is Tim Maynard. I am starting this GoFundMe page in an attempt to help my brother, Buddy Maynard, his family, and his church. On Wednesday, Oct 10th, 2018 Hurricane Michael made landfall in Panama City, Florida and brought utter devastation to the entire city. Hurricane Michael was the 3rd largest hurricane in US history and the single largest hurricane to ever hit the Florida panhandle. It was literally 2 mph shy of a CAT 5 hurricane with sustained winds of 155 mph. It left behind total destruction. My brother has run a boys home for troubled youth for the past 20 years and also runs the 3rd largest food bank in Bay County, Fl. Over 250 boys have come through this boys home in those 20 years and the food bank feeds over 400 families a month. Bottom line, my brother and his family have given sacrificially their entire lives and now they need our help desperately. The log cabin in these pictures sustained major roof damage and water damage. The picture attached shows a before pic and after pic. The devastation is unreal. Additionally his church, where he is the pastor, sustained major roof damage and water damage and can not be used at all. The electrical infrastructure in Panama City, Florida is destroyed almost completely. That being said my brother and his family will likely be without electrical service for a minimum of one month, to possibly as long as three months. They are using generators to keep their refrigerators going as well as the well pump so that they can have fresh water to drink. Every business in Panama City is either destroyed or boarded up and closed. There are no gas stations open where they can buy gas to run the generators. No grocery stores, no hospitals, no restaurants, nothing. Everything is abandoned. Looting has also become a big problem. It’s New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina all over again. It’s really that bad. If any services or supplies are available in the Panama City area it is on a cash only basis. No one will except credit or debit because all the banking systems in the area are down. We spoke to Gulf Power today and were told that it could realistically be 3 to 4 months before all electrical services are restored.I say all of this to simply bring to light the severity of the situation. It will be nearly impossible for anyone in Panama City to make any kind of living with the way things are right now. No goods or services can be bought or sold for the for the foreseeable future. In short the economy in Panama City came to a screeching halt when the hurricane hit. We’re asking and pleading with our friends to help out anyway that you can. No amount is too small. These dear people need not only our prayers right now, but they desperately need our financial help as well. Please consider a small donation to help this family that throughout the years has given so freely to anyone and everyone. Thank you in advance for all of your help.

Kind Regards,
Tim Maynard
