On September 7th, John experienced a seizure in the middle of the night. Initial scans at the emergency room indicated a shadow in the right frontal lobe of his brain. Subsequent testing at St. Anthony's hospital, along with a brain biopsy, revealed that the shadow was a brain tumor. Pathology results have identified the tumor as a Grade II Astrocytoma. To-date we've been working with Stephenson Cancer Center to accomplish the tumor resection and neuro-oncology.
John's resection surgery is scheduled for October 8th at Stephenson Cancer Center with radiation, chemo and physical therapies to follow. It's going to be a long road, but John and I are prepared to take every step together. As with any serious medical diagnosis, there is what seems to be an endless string of both anticipated and unanticipated expenses. Even with insurance, these costs can become crippling. John and I thank you, from the bottoms of our hearts, for any financial assistance you may be able to offer.
