Alma Jean Vigil's Breast Cancer Fund
Donation protected
Alma Vigil was diagnosed with breast cancer May 3 of 2013. After a double mastectomy and 6 rounds of chemo her doctors say that she can have reconstruction surgery! Unfortunately as a single woman, her wallet is as flat as her chest and her doctors want almost $450 before they will do the surgery.
You might be thinking "Why should I donate my hard earned money to Alma?" and here is why - despite having struggled with the normal chaos and stress that cancer brings, Alma has not only had a bright outlook, inspiring those of us who know her, but she has continued to do amazing things in her community. That picture of her is of her raising funds to find a cure for cancer. And she has been such an inspiration to those in the medical field that she has been asked to serve on the Process Improvement Team which is a 2 year commitment on her part to serve on a board that will improve the experience in the San Luis Valley for people with cancer. And finally, should anyone be kept from reconstructive surgery over $450?
Any money raised above the $450 will go to help alleviate the financial stress of cancer. Alma has fought an amazing fight while continuing to work, but cancer is not a cheap date.
