Waldo's Surgery Fund

If you follow our Facebook Page you may have heard about WALDO, a very lovable beagle mix who is in dire need of our help. His story is one that touched our hearts, particularly because we have looked into his big brown eyes, touched his soft fur and squished his adorable fat toes. At 6 years old, WALDO's world was turned upside down after he was surrendered to The Old Bridge Animal Shelter when his owner, who had him since a puppy, relocated out of the area. Shortly after he arrived, it was discovered he had a chronic ear condition but it was not known to what extent. Due to his lovable nature, WALDO was placed quickly and we thought it was going to be happily ever after until a terminal family illness caused him to be returned to the shelter. As heartbreaking as that was, a loving family was there to witness the return and they opened their home to WALDO without question. They are wonderful people who have shown him unconditional love and tenderness; they care for him medically while waiting for him to get well enought to find his forever home.

Recently WALDO's situation increased in urgency, and the pain was more than he could bear.  WALDO was admitted to North Star Veterinary Hospital for emergency ear ablation surgery on his left ear (his right ear will need to be done in the very near future.)

We witnessed a video of WALDO in pain and when it was shared with the Veterinary Staff at Little Silver Animal Hospital where he was getting treatment, it literally brought the Staff to tears.  Anyone who views the video has the same reaction - "Please help him" - so that is exactly what we plan to do.  (We have posted the video here, but want to warn you before viewing).

The OBA Volunteer Group has been sponsoring Waldo’s medical care on an appointment to appointment basis and we have pledged our financial support for his surgeries.  Since the cost of the surgery exceeds what is permissible by the township, WALDO has been released to our care and continues to recuperate in a foster home until he is fit for adoption. The operations are quite intricate each with it's own recovery time;  healing thoughts and prayers for WALDO would be greatly appreciated.

Due to the intricate nature of his surgeries, his medical costs are expected to exceed $6,000.  If you would like to contribute financially, any and all donations are extremely appreciated.
