This gofundme was created to help Brandon’s mom as well as the rest of his family with expenses related to his ongoing care including, gas, food, and PARKING as well as any other expenses related to his care that pop-up. Brandon has been through many challenges, and now he faces another, Brandon was recently diagnosed with CML (leukemia). In addition to this, Tracie has been facing her own medical challenges and is currently unable to work. Please consider donating whatever you can to help!! Brandon’s family needs to be by his side particularly at this time, as Brandon has special needs/cognitive delays and cannot advocate for himself the way his family can. Below is a more detailed description of some of Brandon’s past and ongoing challenges:
Brandon has endured 35 brain/shunt surgeries-and he's not done yet, 4 major bone surgeries, 6 ligament surgeries, lost a testicle, had a hernia repair and Gastrostomy surgery to facilate nutrition when he was a child. He has fought a seizure syndrome, and did his best to meet his maker right after he was born!!! He shouldn't have lived right after he was born, let alone thrive the way he has. Despite all of this, always, always has the brightest hugest smile for everyone!! Although he has autistic like tendencies he is so outgoing and super friendly and generally loves being around people! He recently graduated highschool and was so proud of himself!! He loves animals especially his Rosie!! He has been in hospitals since Aug 11/17. Its going to be a long road ahead, and it is so not fricking fair!! But, it is what it is and we will get through it, because what choice do we have! I am angry and bitter, and not at one person but that this truly amazing young man has had to be put through all that he has!!
Since typing the above: he has had 5 more brain/shunt surgeries and meningitis/ventricularitis (brain infection) in July, and 2 GI bleeds beginning of Sept, and now diagnosis of CML.
