Mission trip to New Zealand

I am writing you to tell you that God has been moving in incredible ways in my life lately. I have felt Him strongly calling me to follow Him to a program called Youth With a Mission (YWAM). It is an international volunteer movement of Christians from many backgrounds, cultures and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. I will be participating in the Year For God program. Along with the orientation and debrief weeks, the YFG includes a 5-month Discipleship Training School (DTS), which begins with a 3-month lecture phase. During this time, I will be learning about God's character and nature, His voice, growing in my knowledge of the Gospel, worship & intercession, and being a disciple in God's kingdom. This is followed by a 2-month outreach where I share my faith to those in need of His love, truth and freedom. I get to apply the lessons learned in the lecture phase, and see God move in and through me. After the DTS there will be a 6-month field placement, which will give me first-hand experience of missionary life. I will have a choice of placement in several locations in Uganda, where I could be assisting in the YWAM preschool, discipling new believers, or working in a home for children affected by HIV/AIDS.

I'm excited about the opportunity and experiences that lie ahead. As you can imagine, a trip like this requires prayer and financial support from a number of people so ANY amount of support you feel God is leading you to give will help tremendously and is GREATLY appreciated. I need to raise $8,000 by July and this money will go towards my airfare, lodging, meals, and ministry expenses.
