Lucky to Love Lyla

hello - thank you for visiting!! our 4 year old daughter lyla requires medical treatment and surgery out of state. lyla has down syndrome, a complete av canal defect and severe pulmonary hypertension. we were blessed to adopt this beautiful girl from ukraine 16 months ago. lyla is a warrior princess!! the doctors in ukraine did not believe she would survive. she amazed everyone by not only surviving but fighting her way out of the icu and out of the hospital completely to return to the orphanage. after 2 years of waiting and dreaming of the day we would bring her home FOREVER we were finally permitted to go get our girl!!! once home with our tough little girl we started all the medical appointments. lyla has been scheduled for heart surgery twice in our state of ny. the surgeon did not feel comfortable proceeding with surgery as he didn't believe she would survive. lylas cardiologist kept fighting for her and he was able to arrange for her to be a patient of dr. Marx in Boston. we were so relieved and grateful that our daughter was given another chance at life saving surgery. lyla and I went to boston in october for her third scheduled date for open heart surgery. unfortunately she was found to have pneumonia and they could not continue as planned. now we head back to boston on january 13, 2014 for another scheduled date for surgery. we have found our selves now in a significant debt. we hate asking for help but we have found our selves in a tough financial spot!!! we love lyla so much. we would do it all over again a million times over incurring as much debt as necessary for her to receive the care she deserves. but if there are generous people that feel comfortable helping us, if even a little, we are forever grateful!!!!


Lyla has a will to LIVE & LOVE like no one you will ever meet!! She is an absolute joy and her love knows no bounds. That is why we have always been so very Lucky to Love Lyla!!!!
