JUST FOR JiLLiAN

It is every parent's ultimate fear to learn that their child is very ill. We often wish to think that it will never happen to us or to those we love. Anyone who has ever been through such an ordeal knows just how devastating it can be.


Unfortunately for my brother Kevin Cannon and his wife Renee Cannon, this fear became a reality recently when their ten-year-old daughter was diagnosed with cancer.

Jillian Cannon, my niece, is a very funny, sweet, and beautiful little girl. She loves to sing and dance, and most of all, she really loves to make everyone laugh. Always smiling and always laughing, our Jillian's smile could easily light up a whole room.


Jillian has been diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a type of cancer which attacks the soft tissues of the body. This type of cancer requires frequent, intense treatments, including regular blood and platelet transfusions. We are asking that anyone with a big heart and a moment to spare donate blood or platelets to Jillian at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in Manhattan, where she is currently being treated. All blood types can be donated; any blood not used by Jillian will be donated to other children in need.


We are also selling purple "JUST FOR JILLIAN" bracelets for $5 each, with all proceeds benefitting Jillian and her family during this difficult time of need.
