Tammy Pellerin’s Updated Cancer Fund

-Tammy was diagnosed with tongue cancer on February 21, 2018. -She had a major, 9 hour surgery on 3/28/18. -The surgery removed half of her tongue, and reconstructed it using a skin flap taken from her wrist and arm.-Tammy then had 30 radiation treatments, which ended at the beginning of July 2018.-Recovering from this has been hard. There have been so many appointments: doctor follow ups, physical therapy, speech therapy, swallow therapy, IV hydration infusions, ER visits, blood work, scans, and so many more. -Tammy has come so far, but still has one last hurdle to overcome: getting back to work!-Currently, she is planning (along with her doctors) to return to work in mid November of 2018.-She needs a little more financial help to get her to that finish line. -Recently, Tammy lost her medical benefits from work, due to being out of work for so long. -She had 2 options: pay COBRA, which is $800/month or switch to her husband’s insurance, for an extra $350 a month. Obviously, they opted to go with Chris’s insurance, but it has added even more financial stress on an already tight budget.-Once Tammy is back to work, she can re-enroll in her benefit plan immediately—ending that piece of the struggle.
