Oliver “the feisty little fighter”

Hello, This is Heather Smith and Corrina Ruthig and we are raising money for our dear friend and co-worker Lisa Clegg and her husband Martin. Last week Monday Lisa went into the hospital to have her baby checked on because she hadn’t felt fetal movement for 24 hours and their baby boy had his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck twice. They performed an emergency c section and Oliver was born on September 3, at 25wks 6days, 1.5lbs. The NICU at Sparrow Hospital took care of him and did everything they possibly could for 5 days. Unfortunately the sweet boy was too small and his lungs were just too underdeveloped to keep him going. He was trying so hard to be strong and more than once was referred to as a “ feisty little fighter”. Martin and Lisa are at peace with the fact that they tried everything medically possible to try and keep their son alive. But he was just too tired and he deserved his sleep. Our hearts are completely broken for them and we wanted to start this GoFundMe on their behalf because even though Oliver is in heaven, there are still so many costs that are associated with insurance, having a baby and treatment in the NICU that remain. We want to do everything we can to reduce the heartache and pain associated with such a great loss and rally around this family to show them how much we care about and love them by hopefully eliminating the financial burden so they can focus on healing.
