RI Thunder Gold 14U Laliberte
Hello everyone! The RI Thunder Gold 14U Laliberte softball team is a competitive travel team with girls from around Southern New England. The goal of the RI Thunder Gold organization is to support their players both on and off the field and provide them with the very best opportunities to be successful high school and collegiate athletes. Their experiences will enable them to enter into their high school and college years with skill and confidence. These skills will be with the girls for the rest of their lives. These young ladies and their coaches work hard and train several days each week in order to prepare for the competition they will face.
This team's record since August 2013 is 28-4, having lost to only two teams, with no losses coming from outside of the Thunder organization. Thunder Gold 14U Laliberte has multiple first and second place finishes; the team batting average is .426; they have scored 257 runs and allowed just 66.
Beyond their performance on the field, the way the young ladies have come together as teammates and friends is like no other team we have ever seen. They quickly bonded and have become close friends since the day the team was formed. They are truly a special group of girls.
The Thunder's performance has given them the opportunity to compete on a National level. The team will be competing in 11 tournaments beginning in March. These tournaments will take them to New York, Connecticut twice, New Jersey twice, Virginia Beach and to local tournaments in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. They will be competing against girls their own age and against 16 and under teams and 18 and under teams and also in several college showcase tournaments.
The team needs funding to pay for their tournaments and help offset a portion of travel expenses.
