Makenna Strong

Makenna Ruth came home with her parents Ellen (my sister) and Dave, as a healthy thriving baby girl two days after her birth. Makenna began showing signs of seizure activity and Ellen & Dave took her to the nearest Children’s Hospital Emergency Department. Makenna continued to seize, a rapid response was called, she was intubated, sedated, and the tests began. The test results came back and the team of providers told my sister and brother in law that Makenna had suffered a stroke. The seizures were a result of the damage done to her brain by the stroke. Her recovery has begun and each day we learn something new & continue to be amazed at how much of a fighter she is. The money you donate will directly support Dave, Ellen, and Makenna. It will help alleviate the cost of a week in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit as well as the expense of continued hospitalization when she is moved to the General Pediatrics floor. Therapies will continue as well as prescription expenses. Of course, insurance helps...but there will be costs that are not anticipated.
