Help Durango Students Build A Farm!

Help us build a farm! We are James Girnus and Deanna Davis and we are leading our students in building a farm and teaching our kids how to grow fruits and vegetables. While we have the support of our school and have secured some limited grant funds, we are still short of where we need to be. We are looking for funding to build more garden beds and build a shade structure for an outdoor classroom. So far, we have integrated our special ed department, a freshmen studies class, and our environmental club in building the farm. We’ve had students creating in-scale blueprints to design our garden, using drills and saws to assemble garden beds, and researching what can grow in our area. It has been inspiring for us as educators see the enthusiasm and cooperation that our students are showing for this project. Please consider giving what you can and sharing our story.
