El reto: el 16 de Mayo de 2023, voy a correr 60 kilómetros siguiendo la senda Litoral de Málaga (GR92 E12) desde Fuengirola hasta Estepona, e intentar terminar en menos de 8 horas. La ruta provisional en Strava sería esta, pero ya se verá según vaya surgiendo el día.
Todo el dinero recaudado lo donaré al final de la campaña, a partes iguales, a las dos asociaciones descritas abajo, existentes en mi país natal (España) y mi país adoptivo (Reino Unido). Para ayudar a la investigación y a forjar un mejor futuro previsible para aquellas personas diagnosticadas con cáncer.

The challenge: on the 16th of May of 2023 I will be running 60 kilometres following the Málaga coastal path (GR92 E12) roughly from Fuengirola to Estepona, and attempt to finish it within 8 hours. The provisional route would be something like this, as plotted in Strava.
All the money raised will be donated, in equal parts, to the two charities linked below, in my native country (Spain) and my adoptive country (United Kingdom). They aim to help research improvements for cancer treatments and shape a more positive future for those patients.

Aquellas personas que me conocéis, sabéis que esto de correr me da la vida. Arregla casi todo. Para conmemorar esta fecha de lo que hubiese sido tu 60 cumpleaños, quiero que este reto sea un símbolo, un reto forjando el camino hacia la alegría. Ver hasta dónde pueden llegar el cuerpo y la mente.

Don Javier. Mr Usero. A ambos lados del Atlántico. Inspiración para tantos estudiantes, se queda corto para describir la huella que dejaste. Una persona de cerebro inquieto y curioso, y una energía y pasión descomunal.

For those of you that know me, you'll be aware that running is one of the main things in life that brings me joy. It fixes almost everything. To commemorate what would have been your 60th birthday, I want this event to be a symbol, a challenge to pave the way to happiness. To see how far the body and mind can push through.
Half marathons. You were there. Marathons. You were there. 60 kilometres. You will be here.
Don Javier. Mr Usero. On both sides of the Atlantic. Such an inspiration for students, it's almost impossible to describe the mark that you left. A person with a restless and curious brain, and heaps of energy and passion.
For you, and for the hope that this thing called cancer will become a thing of the past.

Este innovador ensayo con biopsia líquida busca tratamientos más efectivos que supongan más esperanza para los pacientes.
Bowelbabe Fund: La fundación Bowelbabe Fund para Cancer Research UK, recauda dinero para financiar ensayos clínicos e investigación decicados a personalizar tratamientos para pacientes con cáncer y apoyar campañas para aumentar la conciencia sobre el cáncer de colon.

Cris contra el cáncer: This groundbreaking clinical trial attacks the most frequent cancer in Spain. Are you joining us? Colon cancer is the most frequent one in Spain and the second most deadly one. This clinical trial using liquid biopsy is looking for more effective treatments that can give patients hope.
Bowelbabe Fund: Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK, raising money to fund clinical trials and research into personalised medicine for cancer patients and supporting campaigns to raise awareness of bowel cancer.
