The Big Purple Barn is home to 15 permanent resident horses and ponies, many with special needs, who were previously unwanted or un-adoptable. We are a 100% volunteer operated 501C3 organization (Federal ID 45-5022618) and we depend on income from our programs and the generosity of donors and sponsors to support or equines. Our farm offers various education and outreach programs to our community utilizing the unique talents of each of our residents. During the winter months, our program income slows to a trickle, yet the expenses of the daily care of our horses an ponies increases. We are raising funds to purchase hay, feed and bedding for the winter months. It costs approximately $150 PER MONTH, PER RESIDENT to provide for their daily needs. Please make a contribution to help us maintain the highest standards of care for our residents. No matter what their needs, we believe that EACH and EVERY resident at the farm deserves our utmost love and care and we invite others to be a part of the and healing that happens at our barn every day. We have residents with dietary issues, ulcers, allergies, seizures, cancer and metabolic syndromes and yet with proper care and love, they lead full lives and reach out to teach us humans so many lessons.
