Hi friends! For those of you who don't know, I started powerlifting during the first few weeks of my freshman year at Northeastern University. My spark for this unique sport was ignited when I was weight-lifting as a form of training for high school gymnastics. I learned quickly from the O'toole's how awesome lifting is. I became a member of the 'chain gang' and still hold a few of the records in the Weymouth Dungeon
Upon coming to college, I was still very interested in being competitive in some sport. Since NEU does not have a gymnastics team I ventured into Northeastern Powerlifting , and I was quickly bit by the iron bug. I have been competing since 2011 and I have rapidly improved due to the help of some amazing lifters- Mike Zawilinski, Luis Jaimes, Shaina Petit, and Joe Cappellino to name a few. I have been the president of the NUPL Women's team for the past two years and I have loved every minute of it. My greatest achievement thus far would be at the Collegiate Nationals Meet last April in which I earned 2nd place in the nation for my weight-class.
Since then, I have been invited to compete on team USA in Denmark this May for the World Bench Competition! This is an amazing opportunity for me and I'm beyond thrilled to be given the chance. Unfortunately this is a fund-yourself sport still and I need a little help. Anything you can offer would be exceptionally appreciated.
Thanks in advance and LET'S GO TEAM USA!
