Charlie Taylor's Liver Shunt Surgery

Donation protected

Charlie Taylor came to Pawsitively Pom Rescue after his owners realized his condition was worsening and they were no closer to a diagnosis. He was taken to the specialist on Thursday and after an ultrasound it was confirmed he had an operable liver shunt. However, it was also found that this little 7 month old sweetheart had stones blocking his urethra which tends to happen with a liver shunt. He was immediately admitted to the specialty ER where the blockage was successfully cleared. Charlie Taylor will spend the weekend in the hospital getting fluids and preparing for surgery on Monday. On Monday they will remove the stones, neuter Charlie, and place a special clamp on the vessel that bypasses his liver. The surgery has risks, but we need to try and give this young boy a full life. He was lovingly named after our previous liver shunt puppy, Max Taylor, who was a complete success with this surgery. This baby has a long road ahead of him and we know he will be strong though this all. Won't you help us fix this tiny soul? The estimate is $5500 to $6500 and we need to raise the funds before he is released next week!
