Team Yousif

Hello,

For those who don't know me my name is Yousif Kunda. I was born in Sudan and lived there for 12 years before I moved to Egypt. At first I didn't know why we moved to Egypt, but later I found out my family was being persecuted for our christian faith. I lived in Egypt for 3 years before we moved to the United States for the same reason. 

While my living conditions changed drastically, soccer was my constant. I made some of my best friends playing soccer.Whatever problem I was going through went away when I was on the field. I started playing soccer the minute I could walk,and I didn't stop playing until I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I had the opportunity to play semi-pro soccer for the St. Louis Lions. It was a dream come true. Then everything changed.

At the end of my season, I started to feel weak and lost my appetite. This affected my body dramatically. I started to lose weight at an alarming rate. I went from being 175lbs to 130lbs in 3 weeks. I decided to see the doctor. At first he thought it was just anemia, but he still told me to come back for more tests. After they reviewed the scans, they diagnosed me with stage 4 stomach cancer. I have been on chemo for the past 8 months and it has been showing good results. 

I know the Lord Jesus is in control of this situation. 1 Corinthians 6:13 "The body, however, is not meant for sinful acts but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body." I have already given my body to the Lord, so this cancer is not mine, but it is for the Lord, and the Lord is for my body. I ask of you guys to keep me and my family in your prayers. Thanks
