Olivia's Recovery
Olivia is a beautiful, outgoing, smart 7 year-old with Hip Dysplasia. She recently had major hip surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital. This surgery was preformed to to allow normal leg growth, reduce arthritis, and delay hip replacement. The official procedure names are: Open Reduction Femoral Shortening with Acetabular Osteotomy and Pelvic Osteotomy. In layman's term: Reconstruction of the hip socket, tendon, and femur bone. The healing time for this procedure is at least 6 weeks in a full spica cast, which will require considerable care. This includes diapering, and Home Bound Education. There is a possibility she may need an additional procedure, or recast in 6 weeks. This Go Fund Me is for Olivia’s mother, Rachael. She is a single parent with two other children. Due to round the clock care, until Olivia recovers, her mother is limited on how much she can work. This Go Fund Me account has been created to help assist Rachael with necessities such as housing, utilities, groceries, etc. Any amount is greatly appreciated, and if you cannot donate your prayers are just as helpful.
