The Heart of a Champion

On March 20th, 2018 my dad went to the medical center for pain in his neck. The medical center had stated he had an abnormal EKG. He was sent to St. Mary’s Emergency room and was diagnosed with a silent heart attack. He was then admitted to the cardiac unit. He was sent home the next day with medication and instructions to return for a stress test in two weeks and back to the doctor after the test. He went back to this doctor and he said “All looks good, see you in October.” He was not feeling right, so my Moms best friend had them go for a second opinion with Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center. From his initial stay til the second opinion, two months had gone by and this second opinion he got the news we were not expecting. Within 4 weeks, he needed a quadruple bypass. After 25 years of being a hard worker and provider for our family, he no longer could work. He has no health insurance and without surgery he would have died. His 4 main valves were excessively blocked and his heart was only functioning at 41%. The second opinion saved his life but due to no insurance and inability to work for a week before surgery, he needs help. I’m making this hoping to help him pay some medical and other expenses while he’s off work for 12 weeks in total. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
