Road to World Championships

Hi, I’m Dominick DiFalco. I am 15 years old, and since the age of 6 I have been training and competing in kickboxing. I am two-time National and four-time Provincial Champion in Kickboxing. Most recently, I was presented with an amazing opportunity to travel to Turkiye to compete for Canada in the Turkish Open and to Budapest, Hungary to compete in the (World Association of Kickboxing Organizations) WAKO World junior kickboxing championships this summer. As you can imagine, travel, accommodation, meals training equipment, and gear for such a trips is going to be very costly. There is limited government funding for sports, so my trip will not be subsidized.

I am in grade nine, very active in my school with other sports, and have achieved high academic results. I currently train six days/nights per week as well as volunteer to teach/coach three days per week. Some of my training involves two hours of travel a night. My parents have been very supportive and since I first turned 14, I started to work part-time to help cover all the costs.

I believe I can be a great ambassador for my sport and for our country if I am able to participate in these events.

I am looking for $12,000 to help cover my expenses, for the 2 international competitions.
