Meet Ms. Killian. This little fighter was born at only 1 lb. 13 ounces on 11/29/12 and has fought to become the beautiful little miracle she is today. Due to her prematurity, she is required to have a series of shots (Synergis) which prevent her from contracting RSV, pneumonia, etc., which can be life threatening to preemies. These shots are $465 per treatment. Killian's parents, Sarah and Joe, were notified yesterday by their insurance carrier that they are refusing to cover or reimburse for the shots until 2014. They have paid for the first 2 shots out of pocket, but with Joe's recent surgery leaving him on light duty at work, they aren't sure how they are going to pay for the next shot. It is crucial that Killian gets her next shot by 12/23/13 to avoid exposure and lapse of protection.
