Family and friends, God has put a passion in our hearts to go to the ends of the earth to reach people for Christ. As we look back on our lives we feel God has been preparing us for this. From the desire to open an orphanage when we were little, the many mission trips through high school, to traveling through foreign lands and learning about other cultures with our family, and, finally, studying abroad in Greece, all of these experiences have consolidated and given us the courage to pursue the next six months of our lives in mission training.
We are so pleased to tell you that we have been accepted into DTS (Discipleship Training School) with YWAM (Youth With a Mission). We will be leaving January 3rd, 2019! DTS is a 6-month training program that is split into two parts. The first three months we will be in the lecture phase - consisting of classroom work, with community building and local outreaches. We will be equipped with missionary training that will benefit us when we go into the nations. The second three months, March 27th through June 9th, we will be sent to a foreign country to transform people's lives by sharing the love of Jesus. We will be taking what we learned and applying it across the world. It will be a time of risk and adventure as we serve alongside local believers. We will not know the location of our outreach until mid January, but some possible countries include Uganda, Bangladesh, Nepal and India.
Pursuing our calling to serve comes with the great necessity of prayer and financial support. We humbly ask that you would consider partnering with us.
Please pray that God prepares our hearts for the intense training, that we can build strong, meaningful relationships, and the courage for us as there is a possibility that we would serve on outreach in separate countries. Also, please pray for our fundraising efforts over the next 4 months.
The cost for the lecture phase for each of us is $3,995, while the outreach portion is between $4,500 and $5,500 each, dependent upon where we are sent. This semester we are attending college and working as much as we can, saving for these upcoming expenses. Our goal is to earn and to raise $8,000 each by Christmas Eve!
