Help Ronalyssa Study Abroad in France

Hello and welcome! My name is Ronalyssa Loiseau and I am a senior student at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), majoring in Psychology and minoring in Studio Arts.
Overall, my experience at UIC has been a fulfilling one, however, in
the course of completing my studies, I've had one particular interest
that I've wanted to include that experience: studying abroad. Holding to
the age-old saying of "it's better late than never," I've taken the
necessary steps to spend my final semester"”Spring 2014"”studying abroad
in France at the Institute of American Universities (IAU) College:
Aix-en-Provence - The Marchutz School of Fine Arts. At this renowned
institution, I will be taking art courses in drawing, painting,
photography, and art criticism. Naturally, I am hoping that these
courses, and their cultural (European) influence will expand my
knowledge base and creativity, so that I can further my pursuits in the
field of fashion design.
As you can probably imagine, I am very excited to have an opportunity to immerse myself in what I believe will be an amazing experience. However, the one concern that I had entering this pursuit, has now become very real"”that being, of course, finances. Although the financial aid I receive covers the tuition of the study abroad program itself, there are several other expenses that remain unaccounted for, such as airfare ($1,300), U.S. passport and visa ($300), supplies"”i.e. paints, pencils, canvas, digital camera, laptop and books"”($2,500), meals ($700), and transportation fares ($200). Recognizing that the onus to cover these expenses falls squarely on my shoulders, I will be working full-time as an intern at a construction company during the winter break. Unfortunately, that assignment alone will not cover all the aforementioned expenses.
That said, I have set up this fundraising site to ask you, my family, friends, and supporters, to help me achieve my study abroad goal. Needless to say, any donation amount is welcome and greatly appreciated. And, as a token of my appreciation, I hope to hold a drawing, once I return, whereupon I will give away one, or a few, of my artwork pieces to my generous donors. Thank you all in advance.
Sincerely,
Ronalyssa Loiseau
