My name is Jeanna. I am 44 and I have Spinal Muscular Atrophy, which is a form of Muscular Dystrophy. I have been confined to a wheelchair almost my whole life.. I have had a pretty awesome life. I have amazing parents and one fantastic 19 year old son.
The only thing missing in my life is an accessible house. Many people take having a nice relaxing bath or a hot shower for granted. I have not been able to take a real bath in over 20 years. I have never lived in a home that I can enter every room.
my dream home has been brought to me twice now (yes the same one). I not only REALLY want this home but I NEED it. I want to be able to take a bath in the nice big accessible bathtub. The owner has agreed to finance it for an amount I can definitely afford. My problem is I can no longer work and am on Social Security Disability. There is no way on this amount of income I could afford any type of savings. Crazy thing is even if I could the government would stop paying me and all my benefits would stop at $2000.
I have 45 days to come up with $4000 or I will not be able to buy this home. This money will be given to the owner of the house as a down payment on my dream home. This would mean so much to be to take a bath. Sit in the kitchen to watch and maybe help cook. To be able to be in a bedroom with a door that I can shut for privacy when I have the nurses checking me over.
i would be for ever grateful and thankful to everyone who can help me achieve this goal. Every dollar and every prayer helps! If you are unable to donate I do understand but maybe you could pray for my wish, my hope, my dream! And please share this story!
