The day I met Hilary at Academy of the Holy Names marked the day of a lifelong friendship. It also happened to be a friendship with one of the most wonderful people to ever have graced this earth. We have been friends since I can remember and when we were young we did almost everything together. We took the same classes, had sleepovers on the weekends, birthday parties, church, everything! She never left me behind in anything, even if I was dragging. At five years old she was already highly motivated, the best in the class. You couldn't help but be happy when you were around her, and so proud that she could get every answer correct! On top of it all she is just absolutely hilarious.

Hilary is one of the best people that I know, if not the best. She is a fiercely loyal friend and I am truly blessed to have her in my life. She is inspiring in so many ways and I know she is destined to become even greater.

Hilary is currently with The Alfa Fellowship Program. She has spent the last six months in Russia working towards equality for migrant workers and improving US and UK relations with Russia. Because she excelled in the Russian language, she was able to petition to spend more time in the field doing what she does best: helping others. She has had a positive impact on so many lives in her short time there. You can even find her efforts to raise money for those in need sprawled across this great website. Hilary has dedicated all of her time and energy to improving the lives of those around her, but now the tables have turned.

Hilary was supposed to be flying home to spend this holiday season with her family. She was hit by a car in Tbilisi, Georgia and sustained multiple injuries including significant head trauma. Hilary had been in a medically induced coma since the accident three days ago. It was only just today, December 16th, that Hilary has opened her eyes and was responsive to conversation. the physicians in charge of Hilary's care list her condition as "critical, but stable" and gave us all hope when they said she is doing "much better".

Hilary's parents are en route to Georgia to see her for the first time in months. I know in my heart that Hilary will overcome this. I also know that when she does, both her and her family will need our support. Please keep Hilary in your prayers, and if you can spare even the smallest amount, know that it will make a huge difference in more than just one life. If you would please share this link with anyone you can I will be forever grateful.

With love,
Stephanie
