I met a boy, while living in Indonesia who suffers from Blounts desease, a very extreme condition, that can easily be treated if you have the funds to do so.
However Adits family are not that fortunate,and cannot afford the treatment to give their son a chance of a normal life.
While there, we were able to send him to their nearest hospital with an Orthapeidic department which is a five hour drive from Adit's home town of Cirebon.In Bandung, at Hasan Sidikin Hospital, we were given the good news, that they are able to help Adit through reconstructive surgery, however this surgery would cost equivelant to AUS$16,000.00.
And so my goal is to try and reach out to as many people as possible to try and raise as much as we can to help this little boy.
Medical treatment is something we take for granted here in Australia, but for people who have been fortunate enough to visit other countries, especially less fortunate places, we see the effects left in people who cannot afford simple treatment plans or even just clean water, which in itself can be life threatening to certain parts of the world.
If this was my son i would be looking through every avenue to help him, and so now that i have met him,i think it has become a responsibility upon me to get his story out in order to raise funds to help him.
