KofC St. Basil The Great Council 13271

Vallejo's Knights of Columbus of St. Basil The Great Council 13271 is raising funds to  support charities in the church and communities. An event called "ID Drive - Intellectual Disability Drive" will be held at the end of each mass at  St. Basil Church on Jan 19, 2020. Our Council is using this GoFundMe page in conjunction with the Church drive to gather donations. The Knights of Columbus was formed in 1882, by the venerable Father Michael J. McGivney in St.  Mary's Church in New Haven, Connecticut. Originally serving as a mutual benefit society to working-class and immigrant Catholics in the United States, it developed into a fraternal benefit society dedicated to providing charitable services, including war and disaster relief, actively defending Catholicism in various nations, and promoting Catholic education. At St Basil Church, the Knights of Columbus have established Council 13271 with over a hundred members. Our Council conducts several parish activities, such as Tootsie Roll Campaign to help our church and our parishioners. We can often be seen changing light bulbs, cooking for school and parish events. The time commitment is minimal.  We have one meeting per month, commencing at 7:30 pm, which lasts approximately 1 hour. The Knights of Columbus is always looking for new members who will actively contribute to its principles and the Church.
