Help for Pinko's Medical Bills

I created this page for our dear friend Milla Goldenberg and her sweet 6 year old dog Pinko. Recently Pinko was diagnosed with immune-mediated thrombocytopenia. Untreated this disease would have caused Pinko's organs to begin to bleed. These past couple of weeks have been a struggle for Milla and her beloved dog. While this page can't alleviate the pain and struggle both are enduring, hopefully it can ease it just a bit. We love you dearly Milla and we are all hoping for a positive outcome.

no one wanted a happy ending to this story more than i did, but yesterday's blood work showed that every organ in her body was malfunctioning. so instead of agreeing to more meds, a feeding tube and a blood transfusion, i took a hammer to my own heart and said goodbye to the sweetest dog in the world. she went peacefully last night in her favorite position -- with her head across my lap and Juice by her side -- while i rested my hand over her heart so i could feel its final beat, leaned back into Warren's arms and allowed my tears to roll off my face and onto hers so she could take some of me with her.
to my sweet girl: i'm sorry your last week on earth was so rough. i hope the previous six years we had together make up for it. thank you for enriching my life in infinite ways and for being a difficult dog initially so i could learn the meaning of unconditional love. i'll miss the way you howled when you wanted attention, the way you herded me toward the dog treats, how you burrowed yourself into my arm, jumped on me to stretch and pushed apart my legs so you could sit in between them while i stood. you were equal parts fire and sugar, with the deepest soulful eyes, always sassy and sometimes needy, craving love above all else. i hope your sister and i delivered and gave you as much as you gave us. i'm sorry for ever yelling at you when you misbehaved. i added your name tag to my keyring and keep your collar in my purse now. you were the perfect dog and i'll miss you every day for the rest of my life.
